Step One
Make sure that the
option "MetaStock format" is selected in the
"Download->Options" dialog.
Step Two
Launch Advanced GET and
click on the File menu and select the Data Paths menu
option.
Step Three
Click on the Add button
and then select Metastock File Library, click OK.
Step Four
Click on Properties and
then the browse button, select where your Metastock
Database is located on your computer. eg. C:\Data\NYSE
and then click OK. Click OK until you are back to the
main screen.
Step Five
Click on the File Menu
and then New Chart.
Step Six
Display a chart by
double clicking on a symbol.
Advanced
GET and MetaStock File Format
Advanced GET has the
ability to read MetaStock data using a "Metastock file
library" called MSFLxxx.DLL. Advanced GET has an inbuilt
Computrac/MetaStock format decoder but this does not
read in the current MetaStock format correctly - you
need the DLL instead.
Advanced GET 7.5 Builds
83 through 135 require MSFL651.dll
Advanced GET 7.5 Build
136 and above can use either MSFL651.DLL or MSFL70.DLL
If you have Windows 98
or Windows ME, it must be located in the
C:\Windows\System folder.
For Windows NT or
Windows 2000, it must be located in the
C:\WinNT\System32 folder.
If you have Windows XP
it must be located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder.
